About Metabolic Innovations

The Metabolic Innovations Laboratory is a non-profit academic biomedical research laboratory. The team is led by Dr. Marc Hamilton at the University of Houston. The physical laboratory is actually 3 separate spaces on and off campus. This includes basic human physiology testing, biochemistry and molecular biology, and applied sports medicine and public outreach.

Marc Hamilton, PhD

Dr. Marc Hamilton, Ph.D. is a professor at the University of Houston and an expert in the field of muscle physiology and metabolism. Dr. Hamilton's research involves understanding the comprehensive metabolic changes associated with prolonged movement and physical activity such as through age-related lipid metabolism and inflammatory patterns associated with inactivity. Dr. Hamilton is passionate about bettering human health through the study of human activity and has received funding from the NIH, American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, National Science Foundation, pharmaceutical companies, and philanthropic support for translational research.
